Spring Soul is a brand co-founded by the mother daughter team of Mohita and Tanisha Indrayan, for offering contemporary creations of apparel, accessories, fashion jewellery and home furnishings, with a distinct stamp of our rich Indian heritage. Spring Soul follows a strict zero waste approach where every inch of fabric is used to create unique products following core principles of timelessness, originality and nativity. It uses cutting edge technology to provide a unique bespoke experience and to reach women and men across the globe.
During her younger days, Mohita has been fascinated by India’s rich and varied textiles and crafts. She was a regular visitor to the state emporiums in Delhi and was able to explore various art forms from all over India, used to create apparel for both men and women.
The idea of Spring Soul originated during the nationwide lockdown in 2020. Tanisha, a student of the Fashion Business Management program at FIT, New York, was back home due to the covid pandemic and was pursuing online classes. Lockdown brought focus on conservation in every aspect of life.
Being conscious of the enormous wastage that had become part of the textile industry, Mohita and Tanisha were quick to adapt the principles of conservation to this industry and started creating fabric jewellery from surplus fabrics. The venture then took form when Mohita’s love for native Indian textiles was combined with the desire to contribute to global conservation.
Spring Soul was thus born as a zero waste initiative to cater to the lifestyle needs of eco-conscious consumers. The zero waste promise is ensured as all waste generated by the apparel vertical is utilised entirely for creation of the Spring Soul fashion jewellery and accessories thereby eliminating wastage of fabric, remnants almost completely. The zero waste promise is also maintained by offering a made on order product with a quick turnaround time of 4-7 days.
